Monica – The other half of the working apple

Io ed Elisa
Elisa and I

Hello, today I’m stealing some space from Elisa to tell you a little about myself! I am Monica, the other half of this adventure. I began to appreciate wine late. I have always wondered why and I realized that it is my uncle’s fault (sorry uncle Severino !!!) … like many elderly people in this area (Friuli) he cultivated vines in his garden at home. Every September he improvised himself  as a winemaker.  The result was a black juice that he proudly called wine … well when I taste his wine for the first time I decided that drink was not for me!

How did I change my mind?

As I told you, I started to appreciate wine as an adult, thanks to a former Israeli colleague of mine who, as a passionate, had me taste the wonders of his country. In addition to the taste, I really liked how he described each wine and I told myself that I would to learn more.

Although I was always too busy with work I tried to make time for this new passion and taste good wines; but I felt that it was not enough; I wanted more. I wanted to work with wine and turn my passion into a job.

The Change

Then happened what I would I would have never imagined could happen; out of the blue, without warning (maybe I wasn’t good at picking up the messages) I was let go and … after a moment of bewilderment because my agenda went from having meetings from 8 am to 7 pm, to being completely empty, I said to myself it was a sign and it was time to start something new!

The initial path was not easy but I NEVER gave up and after various experiences destiny put Elisa on my road. She is so different from me but at the same time so alike. The other half of my working apple …

I have yet to learn sooo much about wine but I know I’m on the right path!

Thank you for your time and I return the pen to Elisa who is certainly better than me at writing about interesting topics! But … if you are curious ti know what I like to drink … I love reds! On Enolike, the choice is certainly of quality!

Ciao

Monica
