Sara & Sara Winery is rooted in the heart of the Colli Orientali del Friuli, a region renowned for its rich winemaking tradition. Founded by Dante in 1954, the winery flourished under Giuliano’s skilled hands and is now led by brothers Alessandro and Manuele. With seven hectares of vineyards, Sara & Sara stands out for its commitment to quality and sustainability. The soil, composed of local sandstone marls known as “ponka,” along with the surrounding woods and waterways, creates an ideal microclimate for producing fresh and mineral-rich wines.

Sara & Sara’s Philosophy

The decision to convert the entire production to organic reflects this commitment. In the vineyard, herbicides are avoided, favoring grass cutting and natural methods for plant protection.

The Production Process

Sara & Sara’s approach to winemaking is meticulous and nature-respecting. Hand-picking the grapes ensures that only the best clusters are used. In the winery, natural drying is practiced, and only natural yeasts are used for fermentation. The wines are neither clarified nor chemically stabilized, preferring natural decantation and, for some wines, non-filtration. This process preserves the purity and longevity of the wine, faithfully reflecting the unique character of the territory.
