The Organic Friulano of the Sara & Sara winery
The Organic Friulano from Sara & Sara is crafted from pure Friulano grapes grown in their own vineyards in Savorgnano in Torre, Udine. Situated between 180 and 350 meters above sea level, the hilly terrain is rich in marl and sandstone.
The winery adopts fully organic practices. No herbicides are used in the vineyards, only grass cutting and natural methods for territory protection. In winemaking, clarifications and stabilizers are avoided, using only natural decantation; some wines are not even filtered. Production is limited to 3000 bottles per year.
The Winemaking
The grapes are hand-harvested and gently pressed in the cellar, followed by a decantation lasting at least 24 hours. Fermentation occurs at natural temperatures using only natural yeasts, which are periodically kept in suspension. The wine is aged for at least 10 months in stainless steel tanks and rests for an additional 5 months in the cellar after bottling before being released to the market.

The Organic Friulano presents an enchanting straw-yellow color. On the nose, it offers an intense and complex bouquet, with notes of ripe fruits like peach and apricot blending with aromas of aromatic herbs such as thyme and rosemary. The characteristic scent of bitter almond emerges on the finish, adding depth and uniqueness. On the palate, it is soft and rounded, with a pleasant freshness and minerality that reflects the unique terroir of Friuli Venezia Giulia. This wine perfectly embodies the essence of the region’s most emblematic grape variety.

Ideal as an aperitif, the Organic Friulano pairs beautifully with a variety of dishes. It is excellent with cured meats, enhancing the flavors of prosciutto and salami.
