The Roberto Scubla Winery

The Roberto Scubla Winery is located on the Colli Oientali del Friuli. This particular area is suited to great white and red wines.

The birth of the cellar

The Scubla Company was established in 1991, by some old existing vineyards that have been improved by adding new plants, up to 12 hectares of vineyards. The vineyards are all located on the slopes of a gentle, completely sunny hill, in the southern part of the Colli Orientali del Friuli, the place of choice for wines with extraordinary harmonies of aromas and flavors.

In 2006 the company became part of the most exclusive wine-growing club: I Gran Cru D’Italia, a very small selection of large and small companies but with characteristics of true excellence.

The precious awards

This small company has limited production. This factor, however, allows a very careful care of hand-harvested grapes and wines. Thanks to this peculiarity, in the last six years Scubla has received numerous prizes and awards.

In particular, the Bianco “Pomèdes” DOC COF (grapes with a prevalence of Pinot Bianco with Tocai Friulano and a little Riesling Renano, fermented in barrique) received four times (2001-2002-2007-2009) the 3 glasses of Gambero Rosso-Slow Food, five times the 5 clusters of 2000Vini-Associazione Italiana Sommeliers, five times awarded by Luca Maroni-Guide to the Best Wines of Italy: each with the best result, along with other evaluations such as the National Selection of the Mayor, Silver medal in 2004, 2006 and 2007, gold in 2005. In 2008 he received the nomination for best Italian White Wine for “2000Vini-Associazione Italiana Sommeliers.

Verduzzo Friulano “Cràtis” DOC COF (from naturally dried grapes, in the wind) has been decorated with 3 glasses of Gambero Rosso, in 2003 and 2008, in 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2012 of the 5 grapes 2000Vini and the 3 stars on the guide of the Chambers of Commerce of Friuli Venezia Giulia from 2003 to 2012, 5 spheres from the guide Bere dolce, published by Cucina e Vini, 5 diamonds of DiWine Taste, Grand Prize Noè – Gradisca d’Isonzo 2008, and Douja D’Or from Asti, often arriving as a finalist in competition with the best Italian sweet wines.

Exports

Despite its size, the company has managed to make itself known outside Europe. Their excellent products are mainly exported to the USA, Switzerland, Denmark, England, Holland and Canada, Russia and Japan.

If you have not yet tried the fine wines of Scubla I advise you not to waste time! Excellent to taste with friends and relatives!

Good day
