With spring’s arrival, nature offers us fresh and delicious ingredients like asparagus. Today, I’m sharing a gourmet twist on classic lasagna, enriched with sophisticated flavors for a unique experience
Why Choose Asparagus?
Asparagus is tasty and packed with nutrients like vitamins and fiber. Its delicate flavor pairs perfectly with the creaminess of béchamel and ricotta, creating a refined dish.
Ingredients for a Gourmet Asparagus Lasagna
- 250 g lasagna sheets
- 500 g fresh asparagus
- 250 g ricotta
- 100 g grated Parmesan
- 200 g buffalo mozzarella cubes
- 50 g speck strips
- 100 g gorgonzola
- 50 g chopped walnuts
- 500 ml béchamel sauce
- 2 tablespoons olive oil and 1 garlic clove
- Grated lemon zest
- Salt and pepper to taste
Method
Start by washing the asparagus, trimming the tough ends, and cutting them into pieces. Sauté them in a pan with oil and garlic until tender, then remove the garlic.
In the same pan, fry the speck until crispy. If you don’t have béchamel ready, prepare it by melting butter, adding flour and hot milk, and seasoning with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
Now, grab a baking dish and start layering: béchamel on the bottom, lasagna sheets, asparagus, speck, ricotta, buffalo mozzarella, gorgonzola, walnuts, and lemon zest. Sprinkle with Parmesan and repeat until ingredients are used, finishing with béchamel and Parmesan.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 30-35 minutes, until golden on top. Let it rest a moment before serving.
