The Meroi winery

The Meroi winery is located on the hills of Buttrio and Rosazzo. Today managed by Paolo Meroi, who successfully continues the activity begun by great-grandfather Domenico. Its strong point is that of never losing sight of the wine and family origins of the company, dating back to 1920. Paolo is involved in the management of a winery that is now the undisputed reference point for the oenology of the Colli Orientali del Friuli.

Cultivation and the territory

The Meroi winery has about twenty hectares of vineyards, in soils where yields per plant and per hectare are kept very low. The Adriatic sea breezes and the perfect exposures of the vineyards guarantee the production of ripe bunches, which give concentrated, rich and healthy musts. The grapes during vinification are processed respecting and enhancing their intrinsic characteristics. The wines, once produced, are subjected to the refinement obtained by constant use of small wood. In this way the Meroi winery obtains a range of assorted and varied labels, however constantly aligned on very high quality levels.

Wines

The Meroi Wines are children of that passion and rigor that have always accompanied the family in its production history. Among the various labels a particular mention is to be given to wines based on merlot, a grape variety of which the Meroi family appears to be, without a shadow of a doubt, among the main interpreters of all of Friuli Venezia Giulia.

Do not forget wines such as Verduzzo, Sauvignon, Blanc di Buri, Tocai Friulano, Ros di Buri, Nestri, Dominin, a particularly important wine, with notes of tart with red fruits and Picolit, refined and expertly aged in barrique.

Have you ever tasted the famous Meroi wines? I advise you to hurry because you will not regret it! Great to present on the table, certainly they won’t make you look bad. Absolutely to try their merlot!

Good day! Ilde
