Family Tradition

Ronchi di Manzano Winery is located in the heart of the Friuli Colli Orientali. It stands as an example of female leadership and dedication in the Italian wine sector. Since 1984, the Borghese family has managed the company. Roberta Borghese leads the business with passion and dedication, alongside her daughters Lisa and Nicole. This female-led management gives the company a distinctive character. The women’s passion translates into care and attention to detail, enriching the company’s history with a unique perspective.

History and Innovation

Founded in 1969, the company has a centuries-old winemaking tradition. The Counts of Trento, former owners, allocated the best vineyards to the nobility of France and Savoy. The company spans 60 hectares of hills, with 40 planted with vines, characterized by a marl-rich soil. Roberta Borghese initiated a modernization plan, including replanting vineyards and adopting advanced pruning techniques.

Innovation, Quality, and Wines

The underground winery is built into the rock, equipped with modern facilities for winemaking, bottling, and aging. The use of French oak barrels for aging and fermentation is significant, representing a balance between tradition and innovation. Ronchi di Manzano’s wines reflect the Friulian terroir. Whites are distinguished by their finesse and elegance, offering fresh and composed aromas. Reds feature intense ruby colors and fruity aromas.

The winery is renowned for its crus, with vineyards located in privileged positions that enhance the unique characteristics of the marl soil, known as “ponca.” The Rosazzo vineyards produce high-quality reserve wines. The gentle morphology of the soil and constant humidity protect the grapes from drought. These crus offer wines that combine grace and power, fully expressing the excellence of the territory. The company philosophy is based on meticulous vine care, limiting the use of chemicals and favoring manual harvesting, ensuring the highest quality grapes.
