The Braûros from Ronchi di Manzano Winery is a wine that celebrates the richness of the Friuli Colli Orientali through a skillful blend of three grape varieties: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Refosco. This red wine, with an alcohol content of 14.50%, embodies the complexity and depth of the Friulian terroir, characterized by “ponca,” a soil made of marl and sandstone of Eocene origin. The vines, planted in 1971 and cultivated using the Guyot system, produce a wine that expresses elegance and structure.
The Winemaking
The grapes used for Braûros come from selected vineyards in Rosazzo, an area renowned for high-quality wine production. After harvesting, the grapes undergo destemming and fermentation at controlled temperatures. The maceration on the skins lasts about 12 days, an essential step for extracting color, tannins, and aromas. Subsequently, the wine is transferred to large wooden barrels, where it matures for twelve months. The aging process takes place in large French oak barrels (25-30 hl), which impart complexity and balance to the wine.

Braûros presents itself with an intense ruby red color, indicating its robust structure. On the nose, the wine offers a broad and fine aroma, with intense notes of wild berries intertwined in an aromatic and enveloping bouquet. On the palate, Braûros is dry and warm, with pronounced sapidity and a perfect balance between acidity and tannins. Its aromatic persistence makes this wine particularly memorable.
