The Chardonnay from Ronchi di Manzano Winery
The Chardonnay from Ronchi di Manzano Winery is an excellent expression of this international grape variety in the unique context of the Friuli Colli Orientali. This wine, made exclusively from 100% Chardonnay grapes, highlights the potential of the Friulian territory, characterized by the famous “ponca,” a type of soil that imparts distinctive minerality and complexity to the wine. The combination of traditional methods and modern enological innovations ensures a high-quality product, perfect for those seeking an elegant and versatile white wine.
The Winemaking
The grapes are hand-picked and placed in crates to preserve their integrity. After harvesting, the grapes undergo overnight cryo-maceration at temperatures close to zero, a process that enhances the primary aromas of the fruit. The fermentation then takes place in 45-hectoliter wooden barrels and stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures until March of the following year. This approach allows the wine to develop a complexity of flavors and aromas while maintaining a vibrant freshness.
Tasting the wine of the winery
Visually, the Chardonnay presents a rich and crystalline straw yellow color. The aroma is intense and complex, with floral and fruity notes dominated by hints of golden apple and bread crust, which give the wine a refined and inviting bouquet. On the palate, the wine is distinguished by its dry and soft taste, with a well-balanced sapidity that enhances its freshness and persistence.
Food Pairings
The Chardonnay from Ronchi di Manzano Winery is an extremely versatile wine, suitable for accompanying a wide range of dishes. It is ideal with light appetizers, hams, and risottos, thanks to its ability to enhance flavors without overpowering them. It also pairs perfectly with fish dishes and cheese, offering a complete and satisfying tasting experience. To fully appreciate its qualities, it is recommended to serve it at a temperature of 8-10°C.
