The wine Ramandolo from Bressani Giuseppe Winery
The Ramandolo from Cantina Bressani Giuseppe is an exceptionally prestigious wine, recognized as one of the finest from Friuli. This esteemed wine, one of the two DOCGs of the region, is derived from the Verduzzo Friulano grape grown in the vineyards of Nimis and Torlano. Its production is an art that combines tradition and innovation, offering a unique sensory experience.
The Winemaking
The winemaking of Ramandolo begins with a manual and late harvest, allowing only the best grapes to be selected. The grapes are then dried on racks, a traditional method that promotes a natural concentration of sugars, extracts, and aromas. After a light maceration with the skins, fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 17 degrees Celsius. The aging continues for at least 24 months, with 60% of the wine matured in tonneaux and French oak barrels, and the remaining 40% in stainless steel tanks. This process gives Ramandolo its complex structure and distinctive aromatic profile.
Tasting the wine by Bressani
Ramandolo presents a deep golden yellow color. On the nose, it offers delicate and characteristic scents of acacia, almond, and peach blossom, enriched by notes of honey and beeswax. On the palate, the wine is elegant and smooth, with a full body and a slightly tannic fruity flavor. The balanced acidity perfectly harmonizes with the sweetness, avoiding any cloying sensation. The ideal serving temperature is 12 degrees Celsius, to best highlight all its aromatic nuances.
Food Pairings
Ramandolo is a versatile wine that pairs well with various culinary delights. It is excellent with aged and blue cheeses, bacon, and smoked trout. A pairing not to be missed is with San Daniele ham, which enhances the unique characteristics of the wine. Additionally, it pairs perfectly with dry pastries made with nuts or amaretti. Thanks to its complexity and depth, it can also be enjoyed as a meditation wine, to be savored alone for a moment of pure pleasure.
In summary, the Ramandolo from Cantina Bressani Giuseppe represents a perfect synthesis of tradition and quality, offering wine lovers an unforgettable sensory experience. Its ability to pair with rich and structured dishes makes it an ideal companion for convivial moments and refined tasting.
