THE WINE
The Friulano “San Zuan” by Ronco del Gnemiz is a wine produced in San Giovanni al Natisone (in Friuli Venezia Giulia) according to EcoFriendly agriculture from 100% Friulano grapes. The winery is about 30 years old and is family-run by Christian and Serena who share a passion for wine and for organic production.
THE WINEMAKING
The Friulano harvest is strictly manual, and the grapes are picked only at when the ripeness has reached the desired level. Once harvested, the grapes are cold decanted and then softly pressed. Fermentation takes place at low temperatures in barriques of second passage (already used once). The wine then ages for 8 months in steel and after bottling, for 3 months in bottle.
THE TASTING
Straw yellow tending to greenish. The aroma is floral and fruity with notes of white flowers and exotic fruit that leave please to the almond scent, typical of this grape variety. Soft, fresh and mineral on the palate with a nice persistent finish.
