Vigna Petrussa
A Family Story
A Story of Family and Passion
Vigna Petrussa is a winery that embodies a fascinating story of passion, determination, and tradition. For over 50 years, three generations of women – Giuseppina, Hilde, and Francesca – have led this business nestled among the enchanting hills of the Colli Orientali del Friuli. The roots of the company date back to the mid-19th century, when Giuseppina, widowed at a young age, decided to take the reins of the family business. With courage and determination, she introduced significant innovations in wine production and distribution. Her love for Schioppettino, a native grape variety, was passed down to subsequent generations, becoming the symbol of the winery.
Innovation and Sustainability
Hilde, Giuseppina’s daughter, embraced this legacy with passion, leaving a career in another field to fully dedicate herself to the winery. She brought new energy to the business, focusing on enhancing the territory and adopting sustainable practices. Her commitment led to the creation of the Associazione Produttori Schioppettino di Prepotto, contributing to the revival of this traditional grape variety. Francesca, representing the third generation, continues to steer Vigna Petrussa towards a sustainable and innovative future. With a background in architecture, she has introduced new design and image elements, while always maintaining the core values of respect for the land and tradition.
A Continuous Commitment to Quality
Vigna Petrussa is not just a winery; it is a symbol of resilience, love for the land, and respect for nature. Each bottle is a testament to the dedication and wisdom passed down through generations. The company is proud to have earned the SQNPI certification, which attests to their commitment to sustainable production that respects the environment and human health. The wines of Vigna Petrussa are the authentic expression of the territory, telling stories of passion, tradition, and innovation. The winery continues to thrive, combining the legacy of the past with a clear vision for the future.
