Territorial Identity
The Winery History
The Sosol Agricultural Company was founded in 2019 in Oslavia by Ivan Sosol, a young entrepreneur determined to carry on the legacy of his grandfather, Milano Gravner. Located on the border with Slovenia, the winery is situated on Lenzuolo Bianco Street, a place marked by the wartime history of the region. During World War I, Oslavia was a battlefield between Austria and Italy, leaving behind only a white wall, akin to a sheet, which gave the street its name.
Business Growth
Ivan began his venture with his grandfather’s vineyards, later expanding his holdings to ten hectares. His training was enriched by summers spent with his uncle Franco, an expert winemaker from the Collio Goriziano. In 2019, the company launched its first bottling of 2,500 bottles, which was well-received by the market, pushing production up to 15,000 bottles.
Innovation and Wine Tradition
The Sosol Agricultural Company is distinguished by its production of wines that blend innovation and tradition. Ivan has rediscovered his grandparents’ winemaking techniques, producing macerated and unfiltered wines. These wines require special care in both the vineyard and the cellar, enhancing the authentic flavors of the past. The company has also initiated experimental productions on order for foreign clients, demonstrating great flexibility and openness to innovation.
