The Product
The London Dry Westbourne Strenght of the Martin Miller’s distillery is like all their gins, the outcome of a maniacal attention of the entire production process. First of all the botanicals are selected on a quality first basis, not solely on regional provenance
As far as the distillation is concerned, the distillery uses a copper pot still which dates back to 1898. A particularly large pot which allows to guarantee a constant quality. Then, both the head and the tail of the distillate are eliminated and only the “heart” is used, that is the part of clear and pure distillate, rich in ethyl alcohol and delicious aromatic volatiles, but lacking unwanted impurities. But the real secret of this gin is the water used for distillation, it comes directly from the glaciers of Iceland. A pure and light water.
Put on the market in 2003, it immediately became a cult Gin, loved by all bartenders for its ability to be perfect in all cocktails. In 2016, it has been voted “the best gin in the world” by The Drinks Report.
In the glass it is limpid and crystalline. The aroma is fresh and intense with the classic notes of citrus, spices, juniper and pepper. Soft on the palate, with a perfect match between the aromas and the flavor and a nice spicy finish.
Perfect to drink straight but also in cocktails. Try it with a pice of dark chocolate. We recommend the 72% Dark Chocolate by Valentinis
