THE WINE
The Malvasia of the Blazic winery is produced with 100% Malvasia grapes, grown in one of the most beautiful wine-growing areas of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region; more precisely in various municipalities of the province of Gorizia which is located in the heart of the DOC Collio. Here the marly and sandstone soil is commonly called ponca and characterizes the wines of the “Collio Friulano”. Malvasia is a native vineyard that is able to give the most interesting results in the Collio area.
THE WINEMAKING
The grape harvest is strictly manual. Once in the cellar the grapes are destemmed and a softly pressed. The must obtained is decanted. Fermentation follows, and it takes place at a controlled temperature in order to enhance aromas and fragrances. The wine then rests on its noble lees until the following spring and once in the bottle it remains for a few months in the cellar before being placed on the market.
THE TASTING
Pale yellow with greenish reflections. The aroma is intense and fruity with vegetal notes that alternate well with hints of apple with scents of citrus closing with sweet puffs of acacia honey. Intense and dry on the palate, with a good minerality. Fresh and persistent with a great correspondence between flavor and aromas.
FOOD PAIRINGS
Perfect with fish, soft cheeses and omelettes. Must try with raw fish, even with sushi.
