The Wine
The Le Fornaci Rosé from the Tommasi winery is a bland of 90% Turbiana and 10% Rondinella grapes grown in the property’s vineyards located in the historic area of Lugana, on the southern shore of Lake Garda. It is an intense and harmonious wine that combines structure and elegance.
THE WINEMAKING
After manual harvesting, the selected grapes are simultaneously taken to the cellar for winemaking. The grapes are left to macerate separately for a few hours on the skins to allow the release of the substances that give the wine this particular rosé colour. After pressing the grapes, the free-run musts are assembled and left to ferment in steel with the addition of selected yeasts at a controlled temperature that varies between fifteen and eighteen degrees centigrade. The wine then ages for at least four months in steel. After blending and bottling, the wine rests in the cellar for a few more months before being placed on the market.
THE TASTING
Pale pink with reflections reminiscent of rose petals. The aroma is delicate, with notes of pink grapefruit that alternate with hints of peach blossom to leave room for mineral scents and close with mandarin peel. Fresh and elegant on the palate, this rosé from the Tommasi winery has excellent acidity and a good correspondence between aromas and flavour. Persistent and harmonious finish.
FOOD PAIRINGS
Excellent as an aperitif, it goes well with fish and soft cheeses. Try it with oriental cuisine.
