The Company
The San Carlo company is a family affair. It was founded and carried forward over the centuries by the various generations of the San Carlo family. We are talking about centuries because the notarial deed certifying the purchase of land suitable for producing olives dates back to 1598.
In 1668, the family purchased the first oil mill, which is still available and considered one of Italy’s oldest. Today, it has been restored and is protected by the Superintendence of Cultural Heritage and Fine Arts due to its great value.
Continuing along the path of the history of the De Carlo family, we arrive at 1900, when the oils produced became known worldwide and were awarded multiple prizes in Italy, France and England.
In 1980, the company passed into the hands of Saverio and Grazia De Carlo, who focused everything on quality and enhancing taste by introducing innovative production techniques.
Today, in addition to very high-quality oils, the De Carlo family produces a series of pickles and savoury spreads ideal for daily use in the kitchen.
