The Friulano Pavoni Wine from Ronc Platat Winery
The Friulano Pavoni from the Ronc Platàt winery is a white wine of great elegance and complexity, originating from the renowned region of Colli Orientali del Friuli. This area in Friuli Venezia Giulia is known for producing high-quality wines thanks to its unique terroir, characterized by marl soils and an ideal climate for viticulture. The Friulano “Pavoni” stands out for its ability to express the varietal characteristics of the Friulano grape, offering a rich and enveloping sensory experience.
The Winemaking
The winemaking process for Friulano Pavoni begins with a rigorous selection of grapes, hand-harvested to ensure maximum fruit integrity and quality. After destemming and crushing, the must is transferred to stainless steel tanks for fermentation. Subsequently, the wine is moved to French oak barriques, where it ages for 11 months. This extended period of aging in wood imparts a complex structure and a rich aromatic bouquet to the wine, with notes of ripe fruit, delicate spices, and a touch of vanilla.
Tasting the wine
Upon tasting, Friulano Pavoni presents an intense straw yellow color with golden reflections. On the nose, it offers complex and enveloping aromas, ranging from white flowers to yellow-fleshed fruit, with hints of almond and spicy notes from the barrique aging. On the palate, the wine is soft and rounded, with good acidity balancing its structure and a long aromatic persistence. The finish is elegant, with a pleasant bitter almond aftertaste, typical of the Friulano grape.
Food Pairings
Friulano Pavoni is a versatile wine that pairs perfectly with a variety of dishes. It enhances the flavors of seafood and shellfish appetizers, white sauce pasta dishes, and risottos. It is also ideal with white meats and soft cheeses. Thanks to its structure and complexity, it can accompany more elaborate dishes such as almond-crusted fish fillet or white truffle risotto, offering an unforgettable gastronomic experience.
