The Pinot Bianco from Villa Russiz Winery
The Pinot Bianco from Villa Russiz Winery embodies the elegance and winemaking tradition of Friuli Venezia Giulia. Located on the hills around the winery’s headquarters, this wine benefits from a unique terroir characterized by marly soils and a predominantly southern exposure, which ensures optimal ripening of the grapes. This high-quality wine also owes its excellence to manual harvesting and meticulous winemaking.
This Pinot Bianco is an excellent choice for those seeking a refined and versatile wine, capable of enhancing the flavors of dishes without overpowering their subtleties.
The Winemaking
The winemaking of Pinot Bianco Villa Russiz begins with a manual harvest of the grapes in the cool morning hours, ensuring the preservation of freshness and aromas. Once in the winery, the grapes undergo gentle pressing to extract the free-run juice. This juice is then transferred to fermentation tanks at controlled temperatures, where the fermentation process begins. The wine rests on its fine lees for a period of 8-9 months, enriching itself with complexity and structure before being bottled. With an alcohol content of 13.5%, the Pinot Bianco presents itself as balanced and harmonious.
Tasting the wine of the winery
In appearance, the Pinot Bianco Villa Russiz shows a bright straw-yellow color. On the nose, it offers a delicate bouquet dominated by nuances of white flowers and fruits, with a fragrant aroma reminiscent of golden apples. On the palate, the wine stands out for its freshness and balance, with a persistent finish that leaves a clean and lively sensation.
Food Pairings
The Pinot Bianco from Villa Russiz Winery is perfect for accompanying fish-based dishes. It is ideal with raw fish appetizers such as sashimi and carpaccio, and pairs well with preparations of shellfish and mollusks in white sauces. Among first courses, it complements light soups, delicate risottos, and pasta with white sauces. Its structure and freshness also make it a versatile partner for vegetarian dishes and lightly seasoned white meats.
THE WINERY
