Simandro is an artisanal white wine produced by Tenuta Ca’ Sciampagne, located in the Marche region, known for its rich winemaking tradition. This wine is the result of a family passion, named after the owner’s children, Simone and Alessandro, who actively participated in the first harvest. Simandro is made from Biancame grapes, a native variety of the Marche, renowned for its freshness and ability to express the local terroir.
The Winemaking
The winemaking of Simandro follows the principles of natural production, a philosophy that characterizes the entire production of Tenuta Ca’ Sciampagne. The grapes are hand-harvested, and fermentation occurs spontaneously with indigenous yeasts present on the grape skins. This process enhances the intrinsic characteristics of the Biancame variety, without external interventions such as clarifications or filtrations. Moreover, Simandro contains no added sulfites, making it an authentic and genuine wine, capable of expressing the full potential of the terroir.
Tasting the wine Simandro
In the glass, Simandro presents a bright straw-yellow color. On the nose, it offers a refined and complex bouquet, with notes of spring flowers like elderflower and hawthorn, and hints of white-fleshed fruit and gooseberry. On the palate, the wine is fresh and harmonious, with an elegant finish characterized by subtle notes of green almond. Its delicate structure and lively acidity make it versatile for various occasions, both as an aperitif and paired with meals.
Food Pairings
Simandro lends itself to a variety of gastronomic pairings thanks to its freshness and aromatic complexity. It pairs perfectly with light appetizers and snacks, and is also ideal with fresh cheeses, fish dishes, and white meats. Its versatility makes it an excellent companion for white truffle, enhancing its aromas without overpowering them. To fully appreciate its qualities, it is recommended to serve it at a temperature of about 8 degrees Celsius.

THE WINERY
Tenuta Ca’ Sciampagne is located in the picturesque area of the Monti delle Cesane Natural Park, just 3 km from the historic city of Urbino, famous as the home of the celebrated painter Raphael and the residence of Duke Federico da Montefeltro. The winery is named after the cadastral locality where many of its vineyards are located, representing a perfect blend of tradition and innovation in the heart of the Marche region.
History and Philosophy
Founded in 2008, Tenuta Ca’ Sciampagne began its journey by recovering over three hectares of old vineyards and planting another five hectares. The winery’s philosophy is based on respect for tradition and the environment, avoiding the use of chemical products and herbicides. Only in cases of extreme necessity are minimal doses of copper and sulfur used in the vineyard, and sometimes reduced quantities of potassium metabisulfite in the winery.
Grapes and Production
The winery primarily cultivates native grape varieties such as Biancame, Sangiovese, Aleatico, and Alicante, alongside international varieties like Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. The production focuses on “natural” wines, a term that, while not recognized in enological regulations, best describes the winery’s respectful and traditional approach. Fermentations rely on indigenous yeasts, with no clarifications or filtrations, and bottling is done manually.
Tenuta Ca’ Sciampagne is dedicated to creating wines that are an emotional and sensory journey, capable of surprising and leaving a lasting impression. Agricultural and winemaking practices are based on knowledge passed down through generations, with a particular focus on uncovering local traditions not found in written texts. The goal is to produce wines that embody the essence of the territory, allowing the grapes themselves, together with time, to define the quality and uniqueness of the products.
With strong roots in the territory and a clear vision of sustainable production, Tenuta Ca’ Sciampagne continues to be a reference point for wine lovers seeking authenticity and respect for nature.
