The Chardonnay from Cantina Vie Di Romans is a premium dry white wine from the renowned Friuli Isonzo Rive Alte region, in the municipality of Mariano del Friuli (GO). This wine is produced 100% from Chardonnay grapes, cultivated on vineyards with an average age of 23 years.

The Winemaking
Harvesting takes place in the early days of September. The winemaking of Chardonnay Vie Di Romans is a carefully crafted process designed to enhance the unique characteristics of the terroir. After destemming, the grapes undergo cold skin maceration at 8 °C, followed by static cold clarification. Fermentation occurs at controlled temperatures between 16 and 19 °C, using selected yeasts, and lasts 22-26 days. The wine does not undergo malolactic fermentation, thus preserving its freshness. The elevage extends over 9 months on natural lees, followed by 8 months of bottle aging.

Visually, this Chardonnay presents a bright straw-yellow color enhanced by golden reflections. On the nose, it stands out for its rich and complex aroma, with fruity notes of apricot and pineapple, accompanied by delicate hints of vanilla and fresh almond. On the palate, it reveals itself as full and rich, soft and savory, elegant and well-structured, with good persistence and a harmonious finish that highlights the balance between its components.

Located in Mariano del Friuli, Italy, the winery has been managed by Gianfranco Gallo since 1978.
