Pojer e Sandri
Our world
The Origins of Pojer e Sandri
Founded in 1975 in Faedo, in the province of Trento, the Pojer e Sandri winery was born from the meeting of Mario Pojer, a young oenologist graduated from the San Michele all’Adige school, and Fiorentino Sandri, owner of two hectares of vineyard. At a time when the Faedo hill was considered unsuitable for viticulture, these pioneers defied conventions, producing high-quality wines that quickly gained national and international recognition.
Over the years, the company expanded its vineyard area to 33 hectares, spread across six municipalities between Faedo, San Michele all’Adige, and the Val di Cembra. This territorial diversification allowed the cultivation of a wide range of grape varieties, including Müller Thurgau, Chardonnay, Nosiola, Pinot Noir, and resistant varieties like Solaris. Particularly noteworthy is the “Progetto Zero,” launched in 2013, focusing on the production of natural wines without the use of chemical treatments, added sulfites, or commercial yeasts, exemplified by the wine “Zero Infinito.”
A Comprehensive Approach
The Pojer e Sandri system represents an integrated approach that embraces every phase of winemaking. From cultivation to bottling, each step results from years of experimentation, care, and respect for nature. This meticulous process extends not only to wine but also to grappa, spirits, and vinegar, ensuring that each product reflects the utmost quality and authenticity.
Innovations in the Winery
Innovation is at the heart of Pojer e Sandri’s philosophy. Production begins in the vineyard, where ancient knowledge and modern techniques intertwine to create pure and authentic wines. The “Zero Infinito” wines are the pinnacle of this commitment, made with an ancestral method with zero chemical impact. White, red, and sparkling wine vinification follows specific processes, such as washing and pressing in a controlled atmosphere, to preserve the essence and quality of the grapes.
Recently, after 50 years of collaboration, Mario Pojer and Fiorentino Sandri decided to take separate paths, creating two independent companies. Despite this separation, the legacy of innovation and quality they built together continues to profoundly influence the Trentino wine scene. The arrival of new generations, including Marianna, Matteo, Fiamma, Elisa, and Federico, brings fresh energy and passion, ensuring that the tradition of excellence continues.
