Grappa Smoked by Bepi Tosolini distillery
Bepi Tosolini’s Smoked Grappa is a noble blend of grappa made from Friulian red grapes, expertly aged according to tradition in the Tosolini family cellar in French oak barrels. The smoking of the barrels is done by burning oak chips with tobacco leaves, creating a grappa with a bold and enveloping flavor. This method gives the grappa a unique and distinctive character.
Grape Selection and Distillation Method
The distillation is carried out using a traditional artisanal method with bain-marie stills, which preserves the organoleptic qualities of the grapes. The maturation takes place in French oak barrels, giving the distillate an amber color with golden hues and an intense body. With an alcohol content of 40% vol., the Smoked Grappa offers a rich and complex sensory experience.
Sensory Characteristics
- Aromatic and Taste Profile: The impact is peaty, but not overly alcoholic, reminiscent of a long-aged single malt whisky. Harmonious spicy notes on the finish further enrich the tasting experience.
- Color and Body: The grappa presents an amber color with golden reflections and an intense body, promising a full and enveloping sensory experience.
Serving Suggestions
To fully appreciate Bepi Tosolini’s Smoked Grappa, it is recommended to serve it at room temperature in the classic tulip glass. During the summer months, the ideal serving temperature is cellar temperature, around 16/18°C, to enhance its aromatic notes and sensory complexity.
