Grappa Merlot – Bepi Tosolini
The Grappa Merlot by Bepi Tosolini is a prime example of excellence in the art of Italian distillation. This spirit is crafted using the renowned “Tosolini method,” which involves the distillation of freshly harvested pomace. This unique process preserves the natural aromas and scents of the pomace, resulting in a grappa that is smooth, balanced, and extremely aromatic.
Grape Selection and Distillation Method
Only the finest Merlot grapes, sourced exclusively from the Friulian production area, are selected by the Tosolini family for the production of this grappa. Distillation takes place in traditional steam boilers, an artisanal method that enhances the unique characteristics of this spirit. Following distillation, the grappa matures for 6 months in stainless steel containers, allowing the development of a complex aromatic profile.
Sensory Characteristics
- Color and Body: The grappa presents itself with a clear, crystalline color and an intense body, promising a rich and enveloping sensory experience.
- Aromatic Profile: On the nose, there are pronounced notes of forest fruits, with a marked presence of raspberry. The aftertaste is bright and harmonious, with a pleasant fruity scent.
- Palate: On the palate, the grappa is intense, warm, and silky, offering a full and rounded tasting experience.
Serving Suggestions
To fully appreciate the Grappa Merlot by Bepi Tosolini, it is recommended to serve it at room temperature in the classic tulip glass. During the summer months, the ideal serving temperature is cellar temperature, around 16/18°C, to enhance its aromatic notes and sensory complexity.
