The Barbaresco 2010 wine of the Gaja winery
This Barbaresco 2010 is a remarkable expression of elegance and complexity of the wines produced by Angelo Gaja. Gaja is one of the most famous and historic wineries in Italy. Founded in 1859, it has always stood out for the production of Barbaresco.
THE WINEMAKING
Produced with the best selections of Nebbiolo grapes that grow in 14 different vineyards located in the municipalities of Barbaresco and Treiso. The soil is rich in clayey-limestone marl and perfectly reflects the terroir of this famous Piedmontese area of the Langhe.
Before bottling, the wine ages in barrique for 12 months and one year in large barrels. Before going to the market, it rests for 12 months in bottle.
Tasting the wine by Gaja
Intense garnet red with orange reflections. The aroma is very balanced with hints of red fruits such as cherry and raspberry, which leave room for notes of violet, continuing with a touch of tobacco, mint and spices such as black pepper to close with puffs of leather. Perfectly structured on the palate, fresh and mineral with soft and well-integrated tannins. Perfect match between aromas and flavours with a long finish that never ends. A top-class wine.
FOOD PAIRINGS
It goes well with all red meat dishes and cold cuts and cheeses. Try it with roast pork.
