THE WINE
This Barbaresco is a remarkable expression of elegance and complexity of the wines produced by Angelo Gaja. Gaja is one of the most famous and historic wineries in Italy. Founded in 1859, it has always stood out for the production of Barbaresco.
THE WINEMAKING
Produced with the best selections of Nebbiolo grapes that grow in 14 different vineyards located in the municipalities of Barbaresco and Treiso. The soil is rich in clayey-limestone marl and perfectly reflects the terroir of this famous Piedmontese area of the Langhe.
Before bottling, the wine ages in barrique for 12 months and one year in large barrels. Before going to the market, it rests for 12 months in bottle.
THE TASTING
Intense garnet red with orange reflections. The aroma is intense, with pleasant coffee notes leaving room for toasted hints. Scents of liquorice and spices followed by puffs of ripe cherry and jam, to finish with mint and blueberry. Intense also on the palate, the tannins are present but well smoothed. This wine is a full-bodied, refined wine with a very long finish.
FOOD PAIRINGS
It goes well with all red meat dishes and cold cuts and cheeses. Try it with veal.
Wine is purchased directly from the producer and stored in cold rooms.
