The Winemaking

Riesling is a variety that fears drought but thrives in well-drained, stony soils. In 2022, a year marked by dry climatic conditions, careful management of weeds was necessary to reduce water competition with the vines. The maturation of sugars was slow, leading to a later harvest than expected. Despite the drought, fermentation was vigorous, resulting in a very dry wine.

Tasting the Riesling

Pale yellow in color. On the nose, upon opening, there is a slight reduction typical of the vintage, which quickly evolves into beautiful aromas of citrus and aromatic herbs, accompanied by a crystalline mineral sensation. On the palate, the wine is precise, expressive, and characterful. The granite terroir manifests itself with a generous saline acidity, while the finish is defined, dry, and delicately structured. This vintage is a wine of great finesse, capable of captivating Riesling enthusiasts with its elegance.

Food Pairings

The Riesling Roche Granitique pairs beautifully with fish and seafood dishes, thanks to its acidity that balances the natural sweetness of the fish. It is also ideal with Asian cuisine, particularly with sushi or sashimi, where its dry structure and minerality enhance delicate flavors.
