The sweet wine Noas from the Tunella Winery
The Noas Wine from Tunella Winery is a refined expression of the Eastern Friuli hills, crafted from a blend of Riesling Renano, Traminer Aromatico, and Sauvignon grapes. This sweet wine, with its careful and meticulous vinification, represents a perfect balance between freshness and aromatic complexity.
The Tunella winery grows all its grapes according to the canons of integrated anti-parasitic control with low environmental impact.
The Winemaking
The harvest is conducted manually during the last week of September, selecting the best grapes, which are then placed in crates for a period of drying in a ventilated environment. During this phase, the Traminer develops “noble rot,” while Riesling and Sauvignon concentrate sugars and aromas. Once the optimal degree of drying is reached, the grapes are gently crushed and pressed. The resulting must is cold-settled and ferments at a controlled temperature of 8-10°C to preserve the aromatic notes. After a maturation period and frequent batonnage, the wine is bottled and refined in the bottle before being marketed, which occurs about a year and a half after the harvest.
Tasting the wine of the winery
The wine presents a deep straw yellow color, enriched with golden reflections. On the nose, it offers an intense and complex bouquet, with notes of candied citrus and a delicate honeyed scent. On the palate, sweetness blends with freshness and persistence, revealing flavors of orange, cedar, and candied lemon, culminating in a finish of syrupy apricot. The good acidity balances the sweet sensations, closing with a long, dry, and non-oily finish.
Food Pairings
Noas Wine is ideal as a conversation wine, perfect for accompanying small dry pastries. For a bold pairing, it pairs splendidly with Gorgonzola, creating a contrast of flavors that enhances the wine’s complexity. This wine represents a sensory journey that enriches every moment of conviviality.
