The Friulano from Ronchi di Manzano Winery
The Friulano from Ronchi di Manzano Winery is a white wine of great character, hailing from the Colli Orientali del Friuli, one of Italy’s most renowned wine regions. This wine, made exclusively with Friulano grapes, represents a perfect blend of tradition and innovation, highlighting the unique characteristics of the territory.
The Winemaking
The vineyard producing the Friulano is the oldest in the winery, situated 200 meters from the winery itself, in a favorable hillside position. The vines, planted between 1962 and 1976, are trained with the “cappuccina” method, ensuring a limited and high-quality production. The winemaking process includes a cryo-maceration for one night at temperatures close to 0°C, which allows for the extraction of aromas and fragrances. Fermentation takes place in large wooden barrels (45hl), where the wine remains until bottling, developing complexity and structure.
Tasting the wine of the winery
The Friulano presents a straw yellow color, enriched with greenish hues. On the nose, it offers an intense bouquet of wildflowers and ripe fruit, while on the palate it reveals itself to be dry, full, and smooth. The flavors are complex and enveloping, with notes of barley candy, sweet almond, Abate pear, yellow apple, and fresh aromatic herbs. The rocky minerality of the soil contributes to a balanced freshness, making each sip a unique experience.
Food Pairings
This Friulano from Ronchi di Manzano Winery pairs beautifully with typical dishes of the Friulian tradition. It is ideal when paired with San Daniele prosciutto, eggs, asparagus, and herb omelets. It is also perfect with herb and asparagus soups. It is recommended to serve it at a temperature of 8-10°C to enhance all its organoleptic characteristics. This wine is a true ambassador of Friuli, capable of accompanying convivial moments with elegance and taste.
