The Etna Rosso from the La Gelsomina winery is a wine that tells the story of the unique territory from which it comes, located at the foot of Mount Etna in Sicily. This captivating wine is primarily made from Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio grapes, indigenous varieties that thrive in a volcanic environment at an altitude of about 500 meters above sea level. The Winemaking
The winemaking of Etna Rosso begins with a meticulous manual harvest of the grapes, which are carefully selected to ensure the highest quality. Once in the winery, the grapes undergo a vinification process in stainless steel tanks, where fermentation occurs under controlled conditions. After an aging period of about two months in steel, the wine is transferred to French oak tonneaux and barriques, where it rests for a period of 12 to 15 months. Before hitting the market, the wine rests further in the cellar for four months, allowing the flavors to harmonize.
