The Etna Bianco wine

The Etna Bianco wine from the Benanti winery comes from a selection of Carricante grapes from vineyards on the Eastern and Southern slopes of Etna. We are between 700 and 950 meters above sea level and thanks to the altitude and brightness, these lands are particularly suitable for growing grapes.

The Benanti winery has chosen to grow only native vines, with a team of women and men from the area. For over thirty years, the winery has followed organic practices, using only indigenous yeasts selected by them in the vineyard to preserve the link between the wine and the territory of origin.

THE WINEMAKING

After the manual harvest which takes place in the second half of October, the selected grapes are taken to the cellar and the bunches are softly pressed. Fermentation takes place in steel tanks at a controlled temperature with the use of only indigenous yeasts selected in the vineyard. The wine ages in steel for a period that varies depending on the vintage and after blending and bottling it rests for at least three months in the cellar before being placed on the market.

Tasting the wine of Benanti winery

Straw yellow with greenish reflections; the aroma is intense and delicate with pleasant fruity hints where the apple is perceived. Dry and mineral on the palate, this wine has a pleasant acid note and a good correspondence between aromas and flavor. Persistence is also excellent.
