The Arcione from the Tunella Winery
Arcione wine, produced by Cantina Tunella, is a prestigious red born from the union of Pignolo and Schioppettino grapes, hailing from the hills of Eastern Friuli. This wine stands out for its elegance and complexity, perfectly representing the Friulian terroir and the wine-making traditions of the region, capable of captivating the most discerning palates and embodying a moment of conviviality and pleasure.
The Tunella winery grows all its grapes according to the canons of integrated anti-parasitic control with low environmental impact.
The Winemaking
The harvest is carried out manually towards the end of September and the beginning of October. The Pignolo and Schioppettino grapes are harvested together and undergo destemming and crushing. Fermentation lasts about 20 days, during which frequent pump-overs allow for the extraction of color and noble components from the skins. After racking, the wine matures in the cellar for about three years in French oak barrels, before being released to the market following further refinement in the bottle.
Tasting the wine of the winery
Arcione wine presents itself in a vivid and intense ruby red, with garnet reflections. On the nose, it opens with elegant robustness, revealing fruity and spicy aromas: blackcurrant, cherry, balsamic wood, leather, and licorice, with smoky notes. On the palate, the wine is round and of notable thickness, with firm tannins that do not compromise its softness and overall balance. The finish is long and rich in flavor, promising a memorable tasting experience.
Food Pairings
This important red pairs perfectly with robust dishes. It is ideal with skewers, fatty red meats, game, roasts, and flavorful cheeses. Its structure and complexity make it a perfect companion for richer tables, enhancing the flavors of the dishes and creating an unforgettable harmony.
