The wine Apple Tree Flat Shiraz
Logan’s Shiraz Apple Tree Flat is produced with 100% Syrah grapes grown in vineyards located in the Mudgee wine region, in the state of New South Wales, Australia.
THE WINEMAKING
The grapes are manually harvested between the end of February and the beginning of March. Only the selected grapes are brought to the cellar for winemaking. The fermentation lasts about 8 days and takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature for 8 days. The wine ages for 12 months; half in French oak barrels and the other half in steel in order to enhance the fruity characteristics.
Tasting the wine from the Logan winery
Intense ruby red tending to garnet. The aroma is pleasant with notes of red berry fruit and white pepper, enriched by pleasant scents of star anise. Round on the palate with a good correspondence between aromas and flavor. Persistence is also good.
FOOD PAIRINGS
It goes well with both white and red meat and medium hard cheeses. Must try with cold cuts
