The wine Albana from the I Sabbioni winery
Albana is one of the classic wines of the Emilia Romagna region; the one of the I Sabbioni winery is produced with 100% Albana grapes grown in the property’s vineyards. We are in the Oriolo sub-area, in the valley of the Rio Cosina stream in Emilia Romagna; We are 200 meters above sea level; here, the soil is rich in clay; the winery made a particular choice and decided to switch to organic cultivation. The trial began in 2018.
The Winemaking
The harvest is strictly manual and occurs in the first ten days of September. The winemaking begins with an immediate soft pressing of the grapes and fermentation at a controlled temperature without skins. The wine then ages eight months in steel tanks on fine lees. At the end of the refinement, the wine is assembled, bottled and left to rest in the cellar for a few more months before placing it on the market.
Tasting the Albana Secco
Deep golden yellow. The aroma is exquisite, with pleasant hints of exotic fruits that intertwine with notes of yellow flowers, leaving room for puffs of liquorice. Creamy and elegant on the palate, a refined wine with a perfect match between aromas and flavour and a rich and persistent finish.
Food Pairing
Perfect with fish, even shellfish, it does not disdain roasts. Try it with chicken.
