The winery Castelvecchio is located just above Sagrado, where the Gorizia Karst offers unthinkable corners of nature and tranquility. The view enjoyed from here is truly unique and in particular days it embraces the entire Friuli Venezia Giulia Region from the mountains to the sea. The landscape of the area merges very well with the noble and ancient origins of these places, evidenced even today by the Renaissance villa of the Hohenlohe Tower, the suggestive park dotted with cypresses and the centuries-old oak trees of the vast wooded estate.
Through the years, splendours and ruins have marked these lands that still today represent the challenge of a difficult, arid and rocky terrain, but capable of unexpected alliances with man. The rock of the subsoil, the little red earth of surface rich in iron and limestone, the particular windiness and the late harvest, are the prerequisites for a limited production, but with absolutely unique characteristics.
Today, more than 500 years after the Della Torre family who laid the first stone in the company, the winery is driven by Leo, Mirella, Lorenzo, Benedetta and Isabella, the new generations, in-charged since 1986;  this family guards Castelvecchio and they are capable of offering wines that make everybody fall in love.
