The Pinot Grigio Ramato Colbajè from the Tunella winery represents an elegant expression of the Friulian territory, where winemaking tradition intertwines with innovative techniques to create a wine of great personality. Produced from marly and sandy soils of Eocene origin, locally known as “ponca,” this wine reflects the richness of the soil and the meticulous attention given to every stage of its production.

The Tunella winery grows all its grapes according to the canons of integrated anti-parasitic control with low environmental impact.

The Winemaking

The winemaking of this Pinot Grigio Ramato begins with the manual harvesting of the grapes, carried out in the third week of September. The grapes, picked at the right level of ripeness, are left to macerate for about two days. They are then gently pressed to obtain a must that is statically decanted cold and combined with the fermentation starter. The process continues with a slow fermentation and “sur lies” aging at controlled temperature, enriched by frequent batonnage. After a period of resting and aging in the bottle, the wine is ready for sale, generally at least a year and a half after the harvest.

Tasting the wine of the winery

This Pinot Grigio, when viewed, presents an intense straw yellow color, enriched with golden reflections and a slight copper hue. On the nose, the aroma is intense and broad, with notes of sweet pear and ripe apricot, accompanied by a background of almond flowers and delicate floral and balsamic sensations. On the palate, the wine is dense and enveloping, with balanced persistence and a harmonious, full-bodied structure, enhanced by the minerality characteristic of the original terroir.

Food Pairings

Perfect with dishes based on mushrooms, fish, and also white meats. Its versatility makes it excellent when paired with cold cuts and creamy cheeses, where its total acidity of 5.5 g/L and an alcohol content of 13.50% vol. balance the flavors. Served at a temperature of 8-10°C, this wine offers a complete tasting experience, capable of enriching any social occasion.
