The “Lis” from the Lis Neris winery is a cuvée of Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc grapes grown in San Lorenzo near Gorizia on a plateau 60 meters above sea level, gravelly , of limestone origin. The cellar is very environmentally friendly, in fact the vineyards are cultivated with organic fertilization and integrated phytosanitary defense (as per EU legislation) with the abolition of chemical weed control.
The strictly manual harvest takes place in September and only the selected grapes are brought to the cellar for winemaking. Fermentation takes place in large oak barrels (500 liters). The wine is then left to age on the lees for about 11 months, followed by assembly. After bottling, the wine rests for at least another 12 months in the cellar before being placed on the market.
Intense straw yellow. The aroma is extremely elegant with hints of ripe fruit, traces of honey and vanilla, spicy and mineral notes. Complex and elegant on the palate, velvety and soft, very balanced and persistent. Definitely a complex wine where the quality of the cuvée is higher than the sum of the qualities of each grape variety. A great wine.
Perfect with fish and white meats. Must try with spaghetti with clams.
