The Chardonnay from the winery Lis Neris is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes grown in the municipality of San Lorenzo near Gorizia. The cellar is very environmentally friendly, in fact the vineyards are cultivated with organic fertilization and integrated phytosanitary defense (as per EU legislation) with the abolition of chemical weed control.
The manual harvest takes place in September and the grapes are carefully selected. Fermentation at a controlled temperature (20 – 22 degrees) takes place in steel; the wine is then left (in the same tanks) to rest for 8 months on the fine lees with frequent batonnage and after bottling, it rests for a short time in the cellar before being placed on the market
Bright straw yellow with golden shades,. The aromas of fruit and flowers are elegant and delicate. Well structured, smooth, rich but soft on the palate.
It goes well with fish but is also excellent as an aperitif. Must try with delicate first courses.
Lis Neris is located in one of the paradises of white wine, between the Slovenian border (on the north side) and the right bank of the Isonzo river (in the south). This family story goes back to the renaissance days when Lis Neris had a protagonist role thanks to their wines… go to the winery page
